Brantwood has the poshest public toilets in England!
Never in a hundred years did I ever think I’d be taking pictures in a toilet.
Never in a thousand years would I have thought that I’d find an online challenge asking for pictures of toilets.
Then I read Cee’s words for her Fun Foto Challenge this week:
This series I call Odd Twists, meaning we are looking for the bizarre and the common things we don’t always take photos of. This week the topic is Bathrooms or Outhouses.-CFFC
These iPhone shots were taken in the Visitor’s Toilets at Brantwood in the Lake District.
Brantwood is a country house in the Lake District overlooking Coniston Water. It has been the hope of a number of prominent people, including John Ruskin.
The house and grounds are administered by a charitable trust, the house being a museum dedicated to Ruskin.-Wiki
The house is reckoned to have the best views of any house in the Lake District:

A lesser known fact, but one which I have definitely read somewhere, is that it has the poshest public toilets in England:

So overwhelmed was I by this splendour that I even took a selfie to prove to myself that I hadn’t imagined it:

As those of you who regularly follow this blog will know I LOVE DRAGONFLIES and here they are on a toilet wall:

And here I am grinning from ear to ear because I’ve just used the poshest public toilets in England:

If this has sparked a hitherto untapped interest in toilets then head over to Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: BATHROOMS or OUTHOUSES:

You only meet the best sort of people there. It is in the grounds of John Ruskin’s house after all !

The ‘artwork’ is distinctive and well done. I hadn’t realized that the giant ‘flowers’ were a mirror until you showed the selfie. Nice!

I remember them as quirky and they look very glam in your photographs! I hope the weather was warm enough to have a brew outside Jumping Jenny’s next door with lovely views across the water ☕
