A weekly series where I revisit old photographs.
Every November up to 2,000 Whooper Swans migrate from Iceland to spend the winter in West Lancashire. They leave again in November. And what a noise they make! Wonderful!

I can only imagine the sound! In Canada, we await the arrival of Canada Geese, imagining warm weather and longer days riding in on their wings. In the fall, we are sad to see them go; their departure for parts South means the coming of snow and ice and darkness.
The Whooper Swans must be similar harbingers of seasonal change for you. That picture speaks volumes.

Yes it’s so quiet on the lake when they go. We have resident Canada geese here too. Thanks for stopping by!
