I love piers and recently joined the National Piers Society. Went to St Anne’s Pier yesterday with the idea of people-watching and street photography, but it was so cold and windy that there were too few people there to allow me to blend in with my camera unobtrusively. This was good as it meant I could really appreciate the pier, quite secure in the knowledge that from this Bank Holiday weekend onwards there will be no shortage of people around.

Here are a few  images taken yesterday on, under and beside St Anne’s Pier:

And then these……… Are they windsocks for the nearby kite-fliers or are they this season’s must-have beach accessory?  I’m really not sure.
