In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Forces of Nature.”
I’ve never forgotten the sight of this heron standing perfectly still as the full force of the River Clyde pushed past it. It was at the foot of a weir at New Lanark, up near the Corra Linn Falls, where the flow of the river is controlled by a dam at the Hydro Electricity Station. It was probably a great place for it to catch fish.

Weekly Bird Challenge: “Tufties”.
Tufted Ducks (Tufties) can look incredibly cute, or pensive ...or even downright fierce!
