I attached an 18mm lens to my camera yesterday for the simple reason that it’s the lightest lens I have. We went walking in the Silverdale area of North Lancashire and I wanted to carry as little weight as possible in my tiny backpack.
However the wide-angle landscape shots I took of this beautiful area didn’t work too well. To salvage something for this week’s blog, I’ve cropped a few “non-scenery” shots to square format.
Everywhere I go I photograph doors, empty chairs and the odd window or two. Yesterday’s trip was no exception. The barn and the window were taken on the walk. The empty chairs were taken in the coastal village of Arnside where we stopped for lunch.

Lovely shots, even if you didn’t get exactly what you wanted. I especially like those blue chairs.

Thanks Laurie. I was glad to salvage something.
