Going to Skippool Creek is like going back in time, but not to anywhere I’ve ever seen the likes of before. Its like I would imagine a Twilight Zone to be, but in a good way. I love the place and it’s certainly great for photography. There are small boats and biggish boats, new boats and old boats, rotting hulks and rowing boats full of pond life. There are also wooden parrots and a model (life size, maybe?) wooden bear. I don’t know how big wooden bears are in the wild, so you’ll have to judge for youself.
The place always looks as though it has just suffered a terrible storm, but HEY! that’s how it always is. You want to see the full range of DIY jetties and boardwalks? And how to repair them or to age/distress them and give them that extra bit of character? Then this is THE venue for you.
This first Skippool post is focused on a few of the many signs I saw. Oh, and the bear……..
…….and the bear……..
……….how proudly he stands guard……..

Your actual bear? Or one like it? I’m intrigued. Thanks for stopping by.
