Mysterious figures spotted on Lisbon window ledge!

These are a total mystery to me.
I spotted them all lined up on an ordinary window ledge one hot afternoon in downtown Lisbon.
If it hadn’t been such a hot afternoon and we hadn’t walked all the way down from the castle, I would have lingered and asked a local what they were all about. But we were thirsty and desperate to find a café.
I would love to know who they represent and why they are there.
So if anyone out there recognises them……

(The white cards at the top of the first picture are adverts for a nearby restaurant, in case you zoom in and think you’ve spotted a clue.)
I can see people who look like politicians, entertainers, priests and a lady with big gold earrings who might be a Fado singer. I bet she could tell us a thing or two about all this!
The fact that the priest at the front seems rather disappointed by the few coins in his hand, whilst surrounded by figures in fine clothes, is suggesting political satire to me. But perhaps that just the way my mind works.
Oh, I really haven’t a clue! Help! Anyone from Portugal out there??? or better still from Lisbon?
All ideas and suggestions whether humorous or sensible or even totally ridiculous will be gratefully received.

Hi Helen! Great picture. Here is my guess, this restaurant is advertising in the window, with statues, which try to illustrate the various types of patrons that patronize their establishment, from all walks of life. The priests are saddened by the fact that the patrons give so much for food and merriment, but so little to the church. Just a guess. Curious to see if we ever find out the real answer to the question. I hope someone contacts you. 🙂
