QUESTION: Am I brave, or foolhardy, enough to have a public YouTube Channel?

ANSWER: Perhaps, maybe, I don’t know…….

Well, the up-to-date answer to the above question is: YES, for better or worse, I do now have a YouTube Channel.

Whilst I have no viewers or subscribers, learning how to do this has kept me entertained and amused (and sometimes confused) during these last few weeks before lockdown is partially lifted.

I read something, somewhere, recently about putting videos on WordPress. Then I read that it’s better to embed them, rather than upload them directly.

So this post is by way of an experiment.

Oh, I do so hope that someone watches my 1-minute video of a recent walk along the towpath of our local canal. That will make it all worthwhile! ( I’ve even added some trendy, yet calming, meditation chimes as background music!).

(I was reminded about posting video on WordPress when I saw a clip from Becky in her first April Squares Challenge: Bright. Thank you Becky)

Well done, Helen. I enjoyed the video a lot.

Yes, always best to embed Videos and Tweets on WordPress, because of the space issue. And the YouTube video block is very easy to use.

I’m over on YouTube too. Been there a few years, but don’t tend to use it very much.

I have a YouTube site as well Helen. Get a few views over the years but haven’t posted a video for years.
The doll in the tree was an unexpected surprise 🙂

oh wow that is such a lovely video, and well done on the editing. I hadn’t read that about embedding via YouTube rather than directly uploading. Is that because of space?

Thank you Becky. Yes, the article explained about bandwidth and download time and space it uses up. They listed best sites to use, YouTube came out best, then Vimeo and others, all of which you have to pay for.

Thanks for the advice, might start doing the same
