All is not what it seems in Knaresborough…..

I spotted this wonderfully vibrant door when I was heading to the market in the town square.

I did laugh when I got close enough to photograph it:

Some things in Knaresborough are real….

…….like this view from the castle:

…….though I think this view is so perfect and quintessentially English  that it looks like I’ve photographed the picture on the box of a jigsaw puzzle.

Thanks Paul. You’d have laughed if you’d seen how close I was to it before I twigged that it was fake .

Thanks for following my posts.
Maybe it was a relation of Keyhole Kate who lived here!

Yes, maybe she was Flat Stanley’s bidie-in.

I love fake doors, and fake windows as well. Clever stuff, Helen.

Thanks Hugh. Have. A good weekend

Wonderful photos, Helen. That’s the best fake door I’ve seen yet.

    HMB · 27 October 2017 at 22:46

Thanks Jean. Yes it had me fooled until I got close-up.

Ooooh – this door is a winner!! … and the bridge is gorgeous. The entire scene looks idyllic.

Fun. And the second picture surely would be perfect on the box of a puzzle.

Oh I like this one a lot. Someone was being playfully clever when they came up with this idea. Nice find 🙂

I like the mail-opening! As kids we used to do this, to see when no one showed up at the door:):) Am surprised at at the window I see a hand, but no eyes or face. Great find!

    HMB · 27 October 2017 at 08:34

Thanks Jesh. I’m pleased you like it as much as I do.

ultimatetravel8 · 26 October 2017 at 21:15

    HMB · 26 October 2017 at 20:40

Yes, that’s what I thought too! Thanks for visiting

Arkenaten · 26 October 2017 at 20:02

Simply gorgeous! Love that door.
And your View from the Castle is beautiful; has an almost painting quality to it.

    HMB · 26 October 2017 at 20:24

    Thanks Ark.

Leah · 26 October 2017 at 19:49

How fabulous! I love the eyes, peeking out of the letter box!

That last picture. It really is a photograph? It does look like a painting. Come on, now. You’re pulling our legs!

    HMB · 26 October 2017 at 19:54

The last one really is a picture taken with my iPhone when we were at the Castle. It would make a good jigsaw though don’t you think? Thanks for visiting. Where in the world are you right now? Are you home for winter?

      Leah · 26 October 2017 at 20:02

That picture would be stunning as a puzzle. It could be used in a tourist brochure, on a postcard, or in a calendar!

We are home in Manitoba with our first snow day of 2017. This turn in the weather officially has me looking forward to our coming travels. We’ll start off with a road trip to British Columbia!

Snow already! Have a good winter.
