What a lovely photo. I guess not too overcrowded! Would love to use some of it in a little painting. A very unusual sight for South Africans. Do I have your permission?

Hi Liz. I’d be delighted for you to use this for a painting. It’s a scene just begging to be drawn or painted. I would if I could.
And today it is an island in the pouring rain. But we’re home now.

The weather teaches us to be flexible and to take things as they come. And, of course, to complain.

Yes. I like a good moan sometimes. And we in UK mention the weather all the times to strangers in the street, in shops, wherever. It’s a sharing thing .
My Thai friends tell me that they never talk about the weather as it’s so predictable in the tropics. Instead their polite conversation is around what you’re having for your dinner.

We in Maine talk a lot about the weather. It really does matter to us, as it does to you, too. However, I love the idea of talking about what you’re having for dinner. Yes!

That looks gorgeous-the sort of place you’d want to row too and just enjoy

Beautiful shot, Helen. Had to look it up. Can you believe I grew up in England and never visited the lake district?
HMB · 30 March 2017 at 12:32
You probably didn’t go ‘cos it rains there so much
Arkenaten · 30 March 2017 at 12:36
I suspect I was too busy with work and too busy chasing after other things
before emigrating for South Africa!
HMB · 30 March 2017 at 12:37
Oh you busy wee bee.
