Taking a Fresh Look at Everyday Objects.

When I saw the title of this week’s CFFC, my first thought was, “Oh, I think I’ll give this one a miss!”

I knew I didn’t have any pictures of plates, nor did I think I could work up any enthusiasm to create any.

However………

……half way through the morning  I noticed the pattern made by some plates on racks in a kitchen cupboard.

On the shelf above were some little dipping bowls we use for olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

(It helped that the work surfaces and the tiles are black/dark grey; also that the light from the window was good.)

In another cupboard these little espresso cups were posing like this, so out they came too.

In all I really enjoyed my half hour playing around with these everyday objects.  I tried something minimalist with forks, but that one didn’t work.  Ah well, you win some and you lose some.

A million thanks to Cee for once again getting me to think outside the box with this week’s challenge:

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Dishes, Pots, Pans and Silverware.

I think I feel a mini-series coming on: “Everyday Objects” .

I’ve not taken any Pots, Pans or Silverware yet, though the Silverware category might turn out to be Stainless Steel!

Gosh, Helen! I guess you found your enthusiasm. Those pictures are stunning!

I gave myself a kick up the backside! Then thoroughly enjoyed my half hour in the kitchen with the camera. These challenges get me looking at things in a different way sometimes

I had to laugh Helen, your statement, sounds so much like me some days!
“I knew I didn’t have any pictures of plates, nor did I think I could work up any enthusiasm to create any.” LOL 🙂

Great minds think alike. the last several days I have been photographing “mundane” household objects too. Almost done processing. Trying for things other than beautiful flowers, with lines, curves and cracks. This post was good and came at a good time. 🙂
