Our penultimate trip this year took us to Ullswater in the Lake District. We stayed in a hotel whose grounds extended down to the shores of the lake.

When we arrived, it was raining. It often rains in England’s Lake District – if it didn’t then we wouldn’t have such beautiful lakes and greenery!

The following morning, once the mist had cleared, we enjoyed blue skies and glorious autumn sunshine:

What a stunning place the lakes are, Helen. I’ve never been. Hopefully, next year (if restrictions allow).

Beautiful images Helen and it’s such a lovely setting – we’ve eaten in the restaurant a few times and wandered through the gardens when we lived in Cumbria

It’s quite something! And the food is as good as the scenery as you know.
