Empty chairs are always so welcome on an action-packed, 36-hour city break.

We recently visited the city of Leeds in Yorkshire. The main reason for the trip was to go to a performance of La Bohème by Opera North in the wonderful and traditional Leeds Grand Theatre and Opera House.

These seats were conveniently placed in the corridor outside the Ladies’ toilets at the theatre (very handy at the interval when there was a queue):

The following morning we explored Leeds Minster . It would be good to go when these seats are occupied:

And by way of a contrast there were some modern seats in nearby Millennium Square. They were more comfortable than they look………or maybe we were just so exhausted by this time that we could have rested anywhere!

Great seats. The old ones are really lovely and that one with two colors of metal is very striking.
