Empty Chairs 1: The Colour Version

Empty chairs is the topic to bring me back to this blog.  I’ve taken a break from this website for a while and it’s good to be back.

I quite ran out of ideas and enthusiasm during a very dull, cold and wet winter.

Not that I was idle; far from it!

I started a new website for  Black & White pictures which you can find at MonoZone.Online.

I recently posted on MonoZone.Online a collection of Empty Chairs  which I seems to be a subject I photograph a lot ( along with doors and windows).  I sometimes wonder what a psychologist would make of some of the subjects we photographers choose …………… probably that we’re all very lucky people to have such an absorbing hobby which is so much fun.

I hope you find a chair here you’d like to rest a while on:

Oh that’s quite stunning. But I haven’t seen a different version yet.

Welcome back, Helen. I’ve seen photography challenges for doors and windows, but never for chairs. You may be on to something here.

Thanks Hugh. It’s good to be back. I have probably hundreds of pictures of chairs for some reason.

Helen, welcome back. It’s good to take a break and do something fresh.

Youe empty chairs are just that. The pictures are fresh and lovely. I will say; however, that none looks overly comfortable to my sore hips and back, at the moment. I’m so glad you’ve only invited me to observe.

Hi Leah. Poor you with sore back. Hope better soon. I’ll be on the lookout now for a really comfortable chair to photograph just for you… though comfy ones might not be empty!

Laurie Graves · 4 May 2018 at 14:09

Glad you are back! Great assortment of chairs. My favorite, of course, is the one taken in the library. What is that big bathing suit thing (?) in the picture with the red chairs?

    HMB · 4 May 2018 at 15:40

Hi Laurie. You never know what you’ll see when you look behind the curtain at an old-time music hall show at the seaside! The bathing suit is papier-mâché, so not much good for swimming.

      Just decorative.

Great to see you again Helen and a super set of images. Winter was bad and it just seemed to go on, and on, even now we are in spring, or is that summer, the sunshine is still fighting to appear. Have a great day Helen 🙂

    HMB · 4 May 2018 at 19:53

Thanks Paul. Sunshine today and perhaps for a few more days. YIPPEE. Enjoy yourselves on your walks.

What a delightful idea and beautiful execution in colourful variety.

    HMB · 3 May 2018 at 22:47

Thank you. I’m so pleased you like them.

GeorgieMoon · 3 May 2018 at 22:23

I love your chairs, and I love the way you have edited the photos!

    HMB · 3 May 2018 at 22:25

Thank you Georgie. Some are iPhone edited on Snapseed, others are taken with “grown up” camera! Must catch up with your blog.

Welcome back! Winter was awful in New York city also snowing the day after Easter! However we have gone from winter weather straight into summer! 88 degrees Fahrenheit! But I will take heat over cold any day! ☺

    HMB · 3 May 2018 at 21:52

Oh, thank you for welcome! I’ll catch up with your blog now too.
We had two warm days a couple of weeks ago and the newspapers are full of the high temperatures we might enjoy over this coming Bank holiday weekend (high as in 21C in NW England!) . Hope all well with you and bro’
