Thursday Doors is a weekly feature allowing door lovers to come together to admire and share their favorite door photos from around the world. Feel free to join in on the fun by creating your own Thursday Doors post each week and then sharing it, between Thursday morning and Saturday noon (North American eastern time) Norm’s Thursday Doors
This week I’m posting another couple of pictures from my recent trip to the Mediterranean island of Malta. Both doors are typically Maltese in that they are full of individual character (and also made of wood, no PVC here!). I would say after photographing literally hundreds of doors in the course of a week, I never saw two the same.

That first one is a beauty but I really love that blue one and its 2/3 – 1/3 split.

I love the blue, but there’s something about the first door and the weathered stone house that really attracts me.

Thanks. Yes I love the old weathered stone too. And it’s still well used daily as it’s someone’s house.

These are gorgeous, Helen. I don’t know what is it about doors but they make for some of the most fascinating and beautiful photos!
HMB · 19 May 2016 at 14:31
Thanks Kim. Yes I have a “thing” about doors and am so relieved now that I’m blogging to learn that many other people have too.

Again some fabulous doors (Malta has been added to my wish list). The first one has a certain charm, although it looks little used. I like the striking blue of the other door, the image has more or less the same blue. So they fit well together, perhaps not intentionally. I bet you still have a lot of other beautiful Maltese doors, so I will be watching this space!

Thanks Marga.
Malta in general is a photographer’s dream. Valletta in particular, then the fishing villages. Just avoid resorts, as they are awful. Great public transport, 2000 bus stops on this small island and a week’s unlimited travel for 21 euros.
I have just this afternoon booked our next week in Valletta for May 2017.
Hope you get there sometime. ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️
