In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Close Up.”
There are few things better than going out on a sunny day with the intention/hope of looking a butterfly straight in the eye. It doesn’t always work out but it’s so rewarding when it does.
Orange-tip butterflies are amongst my favourites. They are smaller than my thumbnail. Macro photography lets me see them in a way that my eyes, even with my new specs’, could not.

Thank you. I reckon it’s a good life when I have time to lie down in the sunshine and look a butterfly straight in the eye. (Though said butterfly probably underwhelmed by this experience)
