Before my DSLR with telephoto lens got too heavy AND my reactions got slower, I used to love photographing birds in flight.
I always loved photographing seabirds as there was often a clear blue sky background.
I’ve put together a gallery showing Black-headed Gulls, Herring Gulls and Lesser Black-backed Gulls.

These are wonderful photos! I love the black-backed in flight! Wozzer! I had to buy a mirrorless Sony that is a lot lighter even with a 200mm full frame lens. It’s lighter than my DSLR Nikon with a 70mm lens. Changed everything for me. I couldn’t hike with my Nikon.

Yes, I’ve joined the Mirrorless Brigade with Fuji. And moved down to 200mm. Shame I can’t do anything about the slowing down of my reaction times! .
I’m delighted to have found your birding challenge. Just got this first one posted in time.

I’m glad you found it too! I will do a round-up that will post in the morning just ahead of my new post for tomorrow. 🙂
