WALLS MAY HAVE EARS…….
……but……
……DOORS HAVE EYES.
Well, they do in Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter. And they are watching YOU!
This first door looks like a very big door indeed. And it has big eyes to match, making it “all the better to see you with, my dear”.

Look closely at the two panels in the bottom right-hand corner of this wonderful door.
Can you see the door handle on the yellow panel and the letterbox on the corner one?

A Door within a Door
In the Gothic Quarter this use of a “Door within a Door” is the norm (Hi Norm! Enjoy your break!) as is the graffiti art. The graffiti is only on the doors or shutters, leaving the walls untouched in this centuries-old part of town.
I took these next shots with my iPhone whilst waiting to order lunch in Afrodita Restaurant .
(For anyone planning a trip to Barcelona, this unpretentious restaurant with outdoor seating in a tiny square is well worth seeking out).

This couple unknowingly helped my street photography by leaving their apartment block right on cue:

I have many more pictures of doors from our trip last week to Barcelona which I’ll post over the coming weeks.
Here are some Thursday Doors from our last trip:

Many thanks to ManjaMexMovie for keeping Thursday Doors going while Norm takes a well-earned break.

Yeah! Most excellent doors, art and that restaurant with the lovely name I’ll remember too. 🙂 Thanks for playing! Looking forward to more of your Barcelona (and other) doors.
