As Pure as a Mountain Stream

WordPress Photo Challenge: Pure

I took this photograph yesterday on a trip to the Lake District.

The view from Ashness Bridge is one of the most beautiful in Cumbria as the vista extends should extend right across Derwent Water to the far-distant hills.  However, on this occasion it was obscured by cloud. But the bridge itself is very nice and the pure water runs straight down from the tops of the fells.

So lovely, pure poetry! The Lake District stole my heart when we went there to spend a fortnight in Penrith with my parents, long ago. I remember our hiking tours, the charming villages and the boat trip from Windermere. A great area.

Yes the Lake District is beautiful, though a lot more crowded than my native Scotland.
I bet you went to Ullswater from Penrith. We did a walk there a couple of years ago, catching early morning ferry at Glenridding, then spending lovely day walking back to Glenridding!
I need to catch up on reader, as away to Manchester tomorrow. Another busy day! But not complaining.

You’re right, all familiar names. From Penrith we also made a daytrip to Dumfries, so that we were able to say that we had been in Scotland. We enjoyed it very much! Have a safe journey tomorrow.

Glad you’ve been in Scotland (just). We’re home now recharging batteries for day in Manchester tomorrow.
